Inside the Korg Pa2x and Pa800 arrangers is a custom ASIC called "Big Endian" which is designed and manufactured by Korg themselves. It is a programmable device at least as complex as the ARM processor which Korg buy in from elsewhere. It handles all the sound synthesis and EFX. The programmer's data on the "big Endian" ASIC is proprietary and confidential and is known only by Korg employees. For this reason I think the chance of any 3rd party developing an OS for Korg Keyboards is as near zero that I will not be betting on it!
Oh yeah, the other way for a 3rd party to "develop" an operating system is to disassemble Korg's OS and then hack it. Doing that is illegal, it would certainly encounter the wrath of Korg's lawyers, so let's not go there!
Regards,
Rob

This company asked me not to ask them about it to the Musikmesse trade fair, because they have a lot of work with the OS in another instrument. Provide the name of the forum, you will see that now get lots of e-mails on the subject, and now are busy with something else. After the show we will get back to me with the offer, then they respond to the forum and give a company name.
