Just hearing hum when I plug in a mic?

Post by jOhnny jOhn »

Quick question, folks. Advice greatly appreciated.

Have a KP3 for a while now, but only recently got around to buying a stereo jack to female xlr lead so that I could plug the mic in. But when I do, all I'm getting is hum when I switch to mic input. Its the same on all effects, although the hum is being processed by the KP3. Anybody who fix the problem gets a hi-five and my deepest respect. Good day.

Could that be a mono mic input jack?

Just done the same thing (bought an XLR adapter) and sorry to say am not getting the same issue. I am using a cheap vocal mike ("Stagg" brand) and it works fine. Sorry I can't help.

Thanks folks. Maybe it just works with a mono-jack input, but I really don't think thats the problem. Also, it would be handy if the manual actually explained these kind of problems and requirements - each time i read it, I can't believe how lacking in detail the whole thing is.
