PadKontrol with Kaossilator Pro...

Post by Mr36 »

Can anyone confirm for me that the PadKontrol can be used to control and, specifically, play notes on the Kaossilator Pro without having a computer in between?

Thanks.

To control yes, but kopro cannot understand note messages, to trigger sounds. Notes are only for muting and unmuting loopbanks.

Sounds can be triggered using normal control change commands, but it is needed to trigger touch control too. You need one pad to invoke touch first, then you can use other pads to move the touchpoint around with control change, but that isn't by no means accurate method to trigger specific sounds.

I understand that the KPro cannot simply understand note messages in order for notes to be played, which is why I asked for confirmation about the PadKontrol, as I thought its pads could be assigned to send CC messages. Can more than one CC message be assigned to any one pad/controller? Or maybe one of the knobs could be assigned to trigger the note on leaving the pads to be the notes?

Do you know if there are any other midi controllers with pads or keys that can be assigned to send CC messages?

Thanks.
