Migrated ISPs from Pipex to Be just today:

Image

Nice little increase, but I'm paying for the >24mbps service, not their >8mbps one!

The speed has increased from earlier today (was only getting 3mbps initially), so if it doesn't increase further after the "testing period" I may have to pick a few bones...

Can't fault the price, though. Even with the above speeds I'm still getting an 8 x real world increase in performance for £18 per month (£2 less than what I was paying Pipex).

Pipex certainly went downhill fast after Tiscali bought them out, right across the board. Stay away from them!

Hi all.

I just had to revisit this thread. I got a 3G modem upgrade from 02 today and I've just installed it on my laptop.

Check out these speeds.

Image

Man that's fast for a 3G Wireless connection.

Look at the upload speed. It's over 1Meg.
3 Weeks time they are upgrading the mast in our area to 7.2meg.

What's even better is none of this cost me anything. They actually dropped the price by 10 Euro a month to 20.

lol.... this recession is great.

Regards.
Sharp.

Mine is about 950k (less than a meg - ok for browsing but slow by 2009 standards - like dial up compared to some speeds) - especially when you want to view Film/Game trailers etc, in"HD". I'm on Tiscali, but am now migating to another isp - as it's not good times to be a tiscali customer Tiscali in trouble after sale collapse

Enjoying this till the end,- will get a much lower speed in new apartment, with a lousy wireless solution, something like the IusaCell-system in the US/Mexico.
Poly Evolver keyboard, KORG Radias. KURZWEIL K2600S, NORD-MODULAR, KORG D3200, DOEPFER MAQ 16/3 and a bunch of pedals...It's all gone, so now I'm starting over, but with virtual synths.

Soundconstruction going on...
