is it possible to transfer sound combinations from my trinity to my newly purchased M3.
and i know its a long shot, but what about a micro korg?
thanks guys.

I have the same problem with translation PCG file from Triton Extreme to M3.
Why company KORG dont create some of programs on translation ?
My Synth.: KORG Triton Extreme 61, KORG M1, Roland E35, KORG M3XPanded 61 keys
The problem is that it is an entirely different synth architecture.
A program for the Extreme HI engine has one LP filter with resonance, whereas the EDS has two complete filters. It has drive, low boost, it has a per-part EQ.
It also has a completely different set of multisamples (basically like the oscillator waveforms), so a lot of the waveforms on the Extreme or Trinity just aren't in the M50 or M3.
The same goes for the effects, which are a big part of the KORG sounds. They are different between models because they improve them, add some, remove less used ones.
You could go through the multisamples, find one that sounds similar, and then proceed to recreate the program. Then find effects that are similar, etc.
The whole definition of a 'program' for a synth is just a table or list of the settings that each parameter should have to create a specific sound. A program isn't an actual sound, it's just a list of numbers - the cutoff should be 35, the pitch should be -12, use multisample 32 in bank 1, etc.
As an extreme example, you wouldn't expect to load a V-Synth patch into a Radias would you?
Combinations are even worse. A combination is just a set of effect settings and a list of programs, channel assignments, etc.
In a combi, the only information is 'use program A53, use program B76' etc. So unless you had those exact programs in the same bank slots in the M3, loading a combi in wouldn't be much good even if you could.
