I just ordered my first M3 Expanded . What is the fastest way to tell the difference between the two? Or there aren't any!

Thanks!
Of course there are mate. Theres like 500mb of new samples. You'll know that its expanded by many new Pianos/Woodwinds/Strings...etc. and if you don't load the USB chip, the first few Pianos, and other instruments, won't play.

Thanks all for responding,
So there is no hardware change, just new samples in M3 Expanded. So in all actuality I could buy an M3 and get the new samples from korg's website. Is it true? Thanks again!
Raj
Well, yes. There is an OS update (2.0) involved too.
Anyone who had an M3 will probably have expanded it. In all reality you're unlikely to find an unexpanded M3. If it says operating system 2.0 or above when you boot it up, then it is expanded.
The extra USB samples aren't actually part of the expanded package, they were just released at the same time. And you'll find the programs that use them have 'EX' and a number on the end, relating to which EX-USB expansion it uses. These programs were included in the presets that come with the expanded upgrade.
There were however direct changes to the internal ROM sample sounds involved in the expanded update.

Just bought a brand new M3 from a shop last Thursday and it only had 1.06 loaded. Was no drama downloading all the expanded upgrades online. But there will be unexpanded ones around. Easy to upgrade
