How do I send MIDI clock from KP3?
Hello all.
I've been reading my manuals but still no luck.....
I'm trying to send a clock signal from my KP3 to my MicroKorg so that the Arp, and LFO will stay in sync when I change songs on the Kaoss Pad, without having to do it manually on the MK.......
I really need help.... I just got my first MIDI cable today, so I'm still a MIDI virgin......
I was able to send clock FROM the MicroKorg INTO the KP3, but not the other way around.....

most KORG gear (and in fact many other manufacturer's gear) sends MIDI clock on its output port by default. So you don't need to turn clock output on - it is normally on all the time unless it is set to receive clock from something else.
All you have to do is connect KP3 MIDI Out to MK MIDI In, and in the MK's settings, set the clock to EXTernal or AUTo (or some other abbreviation of the same thing on the screen).
With the MicroKorg you do have to 'write' global settings just as you would if you were editing a program.
Auto means that it will use external clock (e.g. from your KP3) if present, otherwise use its own. This doesn't always work, in which case you can use External clock specifically, but the ARP won't work if there isn't something transmitting clock to the MK.

ya..... it's not that simple.....crofter wrote:The Arp works just fine, start a drum loop sample on the KP3, select a preset on the MK that uses the arpeggiator , press a key and away you go
sure it will play in tempo
, but not in sync..
