Jordan Rudess Keyboard Wizdom tutorial

Post by dreamaiden »

Some of you may be interested in this. I'm probably going to skip this one myself. All those fast notes make my head spin. :)

So here is the main tutorial page. You can watch the first 5 bits for free.

http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/jor ... oardwizdom

Lessons covered are Finger Exercises, Splits, Layering, Advanced Layering, Lead Construction and Performances.

He's using a Triton and I think this video would be suitable for people on Mac or PC. You can also sign up for 3 days for $1 if you want to. Especially for Mac people this is a good way to check out all the other tutorials there.

Looks really good. I don't like the idea of a subscription basis though - I'd rather get a DVD....

I think its good that he talks about technique and theory as well as gear setup, gig, and recording related stuff.

They no longer sell CDs or DVDs. If you're on a Mac you can buy the tutorial instead of a subscription, download it, play it on their player which is very excellent, and you can burn it to dvd. I do both sometimes depending - subscription for a month or two, download here and there if it is something I really want to keep and refer back to a lot. They do not mind if you do it that way. And they send out nice discounts all the time.

i was a little shocked that they would do something this short-sighted so did some quick looking around the site and there is a windoze version of the player as well for those of us that aren't using mac.

i might try it later on, looks like a fun tutorial.

Oh yes, very sorry. They have been a Mac only company for some time and recently moved also to PC. I remember now seeing it in passing in an email but didn't check it out further. Their player is awesome. I really like it a lot. Very cool. Good catch Chinard. Have fun ! :)
