Expression Pedal

Post by Keyboarder »

Hi
I am using a Yamaha FC7 Volume Foot Control Pedal.

Unfortunately I am not able to get my Pedal to work properly as a Volume Pedal. If I lower down the Pedal to the lowest position the sound won't go off and pushing it forward toward the maximum position the sound isn't getting continously louder. It seems to be like an exponential curve. So little changes on the Pedal near the max position results in huge volume changes - this is really annoying!

Maybe I am doing something wrong? Does anyone have an idea / any help?

Best expression pedal.

It's good enough that Korg included them with the CX-3 (albeit with a Korg logo where the Yamaha logo is).

I can't find Yamaha's or Korg's here in Venezuela, so I got an M-Audio which works great with any korg gear, and a Roland EV-5. The Roland is not very good on my M50, which should have the same expression circuitry as the SV-1 or any other Korg gear. It was a bit harsh on the volume fade. But since I got a Roland controller, now I use if for it and, of course, works perfect being the same make.

Hi guys, I am using a Rocktron HEX and it's not working very well at all. Only the last say 100 - 110 values are available at the top of the taper. :(

Should I just suck it up?

That's by design.

The exp-2 doesn't have that (as much).

I just bought the xvp-20 thinking, it'll work fine, because the xvp-10 is mentioned as a good one (and its uglier).

But it doesn't, it has the same exponential curve you mention. everything is in the top 25%. calibrating it doesn't make it better. And it's pretty much unplayable while standing up, because every tip of the toe blasts your volume.
