iS iT Possible To?

Post by Demonstrator »

Hi everyone.
I was wondering that if it was possible for korg to make new OS with more user sound banks / or add more pages in user 1 and 2?
because I am going to upgrad my Pa800 and insert an Extern-Ram card (more space for more samples).
If I have to suggest this, whom I should suggest to?
Though it is not impossible since we know about extra user DK pages ;).

I just wonder where did you come with the idea of Upgrading the RAM from?
Or you gonna send it to Germany where they actually do it?

Hi Nadim,
That wasnt the answer to my question.
However (Come with the idea...)
Well my friend it is need and curiosity which can take you anywhere.
More Ram space was my need, and curiosity was upgradning.
Although Germany is nearby to send my keyboard. But that wont be necessary, because now I can do that upgrade my self.
It isn't very hard if you are an electric-mechanic.
Me and my friend (who is good with electronics) experiment that on his Pa800, and it was working and now it is my turn.
Agian if there be more user sound bank(s) or pages it would be wonderfull.

I do not care about expanding the sampling RAM of my PA800, but I would also like to see more new USER banks for sounds in the next OS update. I have many customized factory sounds which I would like to use.

Hi, I have a friend that use also a LOT of his own modified sounds into the user banks, and doing a Resources backup, he has designed in a way when he gigs out he use the already loaded Resources backup "A", and in the break he loads/restore the resources backup "B" and he is set and so on. Since this procedure takes around 4 minutes or so, try NOT to compress the data, seems like it takes longer compressed, I guess because instead of loading directly, has to "Unzip" the data.

He use a PA800 with the factory memory, other than his USB drives that has his resources Backups, and needless to say, he has several Copies of all his Resources backups in different USB drives just in case, I learn a long time ago there are only 2 types of media (generally speaking), the ones that broke and the ones that WILL.
I hope it helps, it works for him, I hope is an acceptable alternative for you too.

Hi Manuel. I'm with you and your friend all the way here. I use exactly the same method to save all my personal Sets and as you say, very easy to load. You are also correct about the compression, it simply is not needed...imho :)

Hi agian.
lol @ "Great minds think alike" no doubt about that.
That was my first thought.
But since I am going to insert larger Ram in the keyboard there is no Need in loading anything agian.
Easy and smooth.
But if you have memory space but no user-Bank. it is like you have the money and nothing to spend on.
