Korg Zero8 interface problems

I'm using a Korg Zero8 V1.60 (serial number 000477) and an Apple MacBook Pro 2.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running Mac OS 10.5.2 with 4GB RAM.

When I connect the zero8 via firewire it sometimes induces a kernel panic in my Macbook.

I have trouble receiving MIDI data from the zero8 via firewire. Usually no data is detected by my computer. Sometimes the zero8 sends random controller messages from 8 different MIDI channels in rapid succession.

Does anyone know how I might solve these problems?

Hello. I don't have this problem. You are using a 6 pin (400) firewire cable?
