Korg Nano Kontrol Editor problems & not working device?

Post by DJSONICS »

Hello,

I buyed today a new Korg Nano Kontrol (it is for FL STUDIO 9).
But i still havent got it to work... When i try to install the software, (input the device with usb in to the computer it says it fails.
I downloaded the newest drivers and still nothing happend..
installed it and did all things that they say in the pdf.. downloaded the editor aswell, but there isn't the device even showing up as connected, which surely is connected..?

I'll give you guys a screenshot so maybe you know what's wrong?

I hope this works cause otherwise it is 60 bucks lost.

Hope to see some answers!

Im really getting pissed of. If they say PLUG & PLAY it should work right after you open the box.

Now i have lost 60 bucks for something my pc even wont reconize?!

Installed the drivers, uninstalled the drivers, but how many times do i need to do that before it might even get to work?

Thanks for the bad software & drivers Korg, you really nailed it.

Did you run the utility it puts in start > programs > KORG > USB-MIDI Driver > Install KORG USB MIDI Device, or something to that effect.

Running the installer that you download simply puts the files on the system, but then you've got to run the utility and actually tell it which device you want to install the driver for (it will show all KORG devices plugged in - the USB-MIDI driver package is actually the same for all of their products). This is necessary because otherwise windows tries to use its own drivers, which are incorrect.

Otherwise, if you have no lights coming on or something like that, it could be a hardware fault or possibly your computer is not supplying enough power to the USB ports (happens mostly on laptops - if you have too many other devices plugged in, or sometimes just when running off battery).

If you still have a problem, you might want to try contacting your national KORG distributor for support (for example in the UK we have KORG UK, in the USA they have KORG USA, in some other countries they have a more generic company that is responsible for KORG products and support).

Yes, i tried that all.

I checked out if people had the same problem on the forums here, but i found not very much. I did run the utility in start > programs > KORG > USB-MIDI Driver device.

My OS is VISTA 32Bit, and my laptop is always plugged into the adapter which provide enough power.. There is a light (and the buttons right near the faders also lit up if i press on them )

I contacted them and they didnt response me back. Send an email, nothing more i can do. I'll bring the device back on saterday.

Thanks for your answer X-Trade.

I was having the same problem after I updated the drivers. But I managed to find a work around.

I'm using Windows 7 and I uninstalled the 2010 Korg Drivers, plugged the korg nano back again and left it with the Microsoft Drivers from 2009 and now it's working again.

PLEASE tell me, how exactly you did that?
I mean, well yeah, uninstalling makes sense - but where did you get the '2009 windows drivers' ?

and what version of Kontrol Editor?

I'm really getting annoyed at my kontrol!
