I have Cubase, so I don't have the need to search for a freeeware option, but there are many around the web.

Try looking here: http://acousmodules.free.fr/acousmodules6_en.htm

You have to realize that using freeware is almost always a compromise. You won't find the same kind of features of a commercial DAW on a freeware option. There are a few exceptions, where the freeware is almost as good as the payware, but is not common.
If you plan to do serious recording, consider getting Cubase or Sonar or many of the great DAWs that are around.

To record using a Laptop you'll also need ASIO drivers for your audio card, since the standard Windows (I assume you are using a PC) drivers are not very good and not really suitable for digital recording.
You should get in www.asio4all.com and download the drivers. They are freeware

Last thing you need is a plug to mini plug adapter. I use a mixer and I have all the inputs and outputs I need, but if you don't, and plan to do recording on a regular basis, consider getting one. There are many options with different price tags. You won't need a large multitrack mixer if you don't plant to record anything but the keyboard. In my case I'm miking a drumset, so I need at least 4 or 5 mics for the drums.

Let us know if you need more help.

Cheers

If your laptop has a soundcard, then get the right lead, eg 1/4" to 1/4", or 1/4" to 1/8th" & plug the headphone-out of the M50 to the soundcard-in & then install & use Audacity software (free). Adjust the M50 headphone volume to suit. Then u can use a free cd buring software, like exact audio copy (EAC) or even WMP, whichever u like.

Try Kristal sound Engine and recorder along with ASIO4ALL 2.10.. To me this is the best recorder for windows lap without any sound module. Its free and can record through the mic in input.. Hope this will work for you!
