PadKontrol Transport Settings for Reason 4

Post by ronblayze »

Hey guys, I've tried searching everywhere, but couldnt find anything that was helpful. Anyone have any suggestions on how I would setup my padKontrol to control the Transport functions in Reason, so that I could trigger start/stop/record without having to use my mouse to hit the buttons.

Triggering functions by way of midi controller or surface

Look for ACT in Reason Manual. In sonar we are allowed to set up functions using this function. I could lead you better than I could eplain it please follow the link if it is allowed.

but check this: http://meerpower.wordpress.com/2010/04/ ... t-control/

Use the UserMessages to send cc values ( I personally use 121 to 127 , it is not really used in reason.)
In editor Librarian Edit the global data, select Control Change enter the cc# (whichever u like)
Once u assigned cc# to each of your available Global control slot. save'm and Transmit 'em to pK (don't forget that or pointless) . Open reason.
In reason right-click on the Play button for example, Edit Remote Override Mapping, Then check Learn from Control Surface Input, on your padKontrol push [MESSAGE]+ the button you want to use for play.
Same thing for the rew, ff, stop n Rec

I used it this way because it allows me access to the transport control from ANY scenes and it does not occupies any pad on any scene.
