Silly Plastic Mylar TouchPad Protector

Post by Octapad1 »

Hey gang,

I got my KP3 Pro last week and am just loving it.....having a blast and exceeding my expectations.

One kinda silly question, but probably worth asking?

Korg had a brain cramp and did not include the little plastic/mylar " peel off and stick" touchpad protector, they mention in the manual. I double and triple checked the box and it wasnt in there...and I swear I didnt lose it.

Do you guys think its really necessary? I will not be taking it on the road and it "lives" in my home studio, and will remain there.

What do you think? If its really necessary, I will call Korg and have them send me one.

Also is there any sub category in this forum, where we can upload and share KP3 Pro compositions? I would like to do that and get some feedback, as well as check out what others are doing.

Thanks all,

Mitch

I've never used them on any of my Kaoss Pads over the years and (knock-knock) they've all been just fine - although never abused.

Thanks Scott.....good, then I wont request one from Korg......those plastic things, tend to have a few "bubbles" when applying anyway, even if you are careful.

Still having a blast with it and have it hooked up to my MicroKorg XL, which is frikkin great.

Thanks again,

Mitch

Would it be a big problem for them to pop a new one in the post to you?

If i were you, I'd drop them an email/call and see how it goes. If their customer service is on the ball then surely they'll just get one sent out?? - not like its a pricey item or that loads of people are going to want them is it

Seems common sense to me, if they wanna keep their good rep on-line and all that.

better solution: there is a grid out there on the web...printed in an exact size and shape to fit under the yellow rim of the touch pad...you could get that template, then delete all the marking, and just print the outline, then cut it out and install it...or leave the grid on...i love mine...

video is here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6O4Sh_T7Ds

not sure about the link but i will look around for it. i take no credit for it, but i love it.

so i use mine as a grid, i customized my grid with 3rds and fifths or you can get rid of the grid and put in a picture of your wife or cat and shred synth all up and down that thing...but the outline is the important part in your case, it fits great, doesnt move, is easily replaceable, and costs as much as one third a sheet of overhead projector film.
