Hi - I don't have the R3 but I do have the Radias and I use USB/midi cable to connect things up. You need to have the latest Korg USB/midi driver which is downloadable from their website.

Hope that helps!

Hi,
provided you have installed the R3 USB Drivers and they are recognized by the Sound Editor Software, you have to load an existent (or create a new) patch library (.r3l) then go to (click on) a free patch (or the one you want to overwrite) and then pressing the right mouse button you will get a menu where you select "load". On the opening file selector box, locate your stored the single patches (.r3p) and click the one you want to load.

There is a button on the top side of the R3's sound editor that says "send" or "dump" (I have a Radias) that when clicked sends the highlighted patch to the r3. There is also an "autodump" button there.
If you get a message such as "no device found or connected" then take a search on the posts in this forum regarding the installation of the R3 USB drivers

It shouldn't; I've had no trouble with other Korg keyboards connecting to my 64-bit Windows 7 machine.

I find the safest, easiest, and most efficient way to work in getting new patches to the synth is to start up the editor, start a new library, and tell it to 'recieve all' from the R3/Radias.

Next, open up another library that you've downloaded and drag the patches you have into the slots that you want them to be saved (overwriting what was there before). Or if you have '.r3p' or '.rdp' files, you right click on the slots you want to load those programs into, and choose 'load' or 'open' from there.
Once you've done arranging your new library, send it back to the R3/Radias using 'transmit all', or whatever it is...

There are other more flexible ways of working, but the above is probably the most straightforward.
