Korg Radias drum timbre help

Post by Gurty »

Hello korg users.

I have a problem and can't figure out how to make a recorded beat on radias.
So i got two timbres 1 = lead 2 = Trance drum kit.
I recorded the trance beat in 2, but if i go to one it still gives me the drum kit while actually it is a lead. i tried everything in the editing mode to assign it as a drum timbre and can't figure it out.

Could you be a bit more descriptive on exactly what problem you are encountering. You say you "go to one", what do you mean by that? And what do you mean by "it is a lead"?

Currently your description is little more useful than saying "I have a problem. It doesn't work". Take your time to write a good description of exactly what you are doing and what is happening as a result.

Generally, to set up a beat:
you assign a step sequencer (I usually use SSEQ2 as a rule) to the drum timbre (I usually put drums on T4, again, as a rule to keep things tidy). To do that you select the drum timbre, and use the select button (Arp,Seq1,Seq2 selection) to set it to the appropriate sequencer. Now this timbre (the drums) will respond to that sequencer.
Then set up your beat in the sequencer, either using the step record or by keying in the parameters manually
Now when you play the sequence will play also. Normally you will use the 'Latch' feature.
If you plan on playing with the Arp/Seq turned off, make sure that you've got the drum timbre set to respond to a MIDI channel other than the global one (ch10 is typically a standard for drums). Otherwise any timbre set to the global channel will play when you play the keyboard, layered with other sounds.

My apologize of my description.

Well i have readed your "Generally to set up a beat" and now it works, thanks!
Only still have one problem, when i press a key it plays the beat in aftertouch.
How do i put that off for the beat?
And also how do you remove your own users init programs?

Beat/drum programming Korg Radias

Post by soundmaster »

Thanks for simple and good instructions how to make drumbeats with the step sequencer nr 2 and change to Midi Channel 10. Solved everything for me too. The Radias monster never stops surprising me. Clever work from the Radias Team. Keep up and please continue to make patches for the Radias and the M3. The Kronos 88X is amazing too :-)

Best regards
