Recording multiple MIDI tracks
I am trying to record (from seq mode) 2 midi tracks simultaneously, piano and auto drumtrack. I have Sonar, and am setting up 2 tracks, channel 1 for piano, channel 10 for drumtrack. Piano is recording, but drumtrack is heard, but is not moving meter in Sonar. Any ideas?
Sorry, drumtrack on channel 10 meter is moving. SEQ mode is set to midi channel 1, but drumtrack is set to channel 10. Sonar says to create two separate midi tracks, one for drumtrack, one for piano, which I am doing. I have played around with the global midi setup in M50, but nothing seems to work. I just want to play piano with drumtrack accompaniment and record each on separate tracks in Sonar.

What type of tracks are your piano and drum tracks on the M50? Both need to be set to EXT (they won't trigger the M50's sound engine but will send MIDI data externally) or BTH (they trigger the M50's sound engine AND send MIDI externally) for anything else to recognize them.
Keyboard Rig: Korg Kronos, Moog Sub 37, Waldorf Blofeld Module, Neo Instruments Ventilator II, Moog MiniFooger Delay, Strymon BigSky, Roland KC-150, Mackie 802-VLZ4 Mixer
Piano and drums set to BTH. Like I said, when I click track 1 in Sonar and have MIDI channel on M50 set to 1, MIDI channel in Sonar on 1, I hear piano. When I click track 2 in Sonar and have MIDI channel on M50 set to 10, MIDI channel in Sonar on 10, I hear drums. How can I get each track in Sonar to record piano on track 1 and drums on track 2 simultaneously (playing piano with drumtrack button on)? Sonar documentation says to setup Sonar the way I am doing it. Seems like there must be a setting on the M50 for MIDI to transmit and receive MIDI data on multiple tracks/channels at the same time. I just can't figure out how to accomplish that.
GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even an e-mail response from Korg didn't give me the right answer. I just had to (in seq mode), page select, preferences, click MULTI REC, and click REC on keyboard track and drum track. I knew it was something in the M50 setup. Over a week trying to figure this out. Had to dig into the M50 parameter guide, but found it.
Feel like I just climbed Mt. Everest!!! Now I can look forward to the next issue which will pop-up, and fight for a solution.
