Intigrating TR Rack into Sonar

Post by shirreff »

I want to use my TR rack as a virtual vst in Sonar. I have midiquest and have created a vst but when I try and insert it I get the message cannot open midi ports as they are allready in use.
So Does anybody know how to get round this as midquest was not cheap and is verygood on it's own but I want to drop my tr rack into my DAW.
Or is there any other programs out there which can make a virtual VST?

You don't need any kind of virtual instruments or anything; you'll just want to use MIDI tracks in Sonar and route them through your MIDI interface or audio interface's MIDI ports and into the TR-Rack.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes I can already do that, I am just trying to see what is best.
My 2 main concerens is setting the effects in Multi mode. Is is much hassle?
My biggest problem is getting it to swich modes from combi to program and to multi.
I have everything configured for controller messages and I can get it to change using Midi quest but I can't get it to change in Sonar.
I set it to send a controller message at the start of a part but the unit does not respond.
When you first swich on it is in combi mode and I want to be able to switch modes without touching the unit as I use it to play live. At the moment I am restricted to using only the combi sounds live.
Any ideas?
