Akos Janca's music with OASYS
Let me share the recent works of my band, Future Plant.
The material is recorded on a rehearsal for demonstration purposes. We played it fully live without any additional backing tracks, etc. I use my OASYS 88 extensively: each song has its own polished Combi (I try to use only one Combi or more if needed) with usually many split points for 4-6 timbres. I also use the Pads under the touchscreen for triggering samples or chords, and certainly the joystick/ribbon section. I have a headset microphone (Shure WH20) for vocals and some vocoder effects - coming from the OASYS. (Plus sometimes I play a kind of tambourine with my left hand - for example in the refrain of "Say hello" or "You gotta be"). For monitoring I use Shure SCL5 earphones.
(We don't use stage amplifiers - all instruments send a line signal to the common mixer. All guys have earphones for monitoring from the auxes. The final mix from the main output goes to listeners or PA system of a club.)
The songs are written by our bassist, László Reményi.

A good song and also a big hit. This is how we perform it with our band:
Future Plant - You gotta be (by Des'ree, Fox live demo)
The sound I play on the OASYS is created by Mr. Kevin Nolan. (Thanks, Kevin!
) He provided 10 great CP80 settings in the KN_CP80.PCG set which is freely downloadable from his website here.
Regards,
Akos

Another new clip from the same rehearsal session:
Say hello
And I fondly suggest this complete image video including funny moments and joking during the rehearsal - that I think you can understand without translating to English. The OASYS sounds and plays great.

P.S. Absolutely off topic but check this translator out! The Manslater

I have question that might be dumb, but here goes…
Anyone whose native language is not english, when writing a pop
song with lyric , do you still follow rhyme schemes in your native language like english language pop songs or are the traditions different in your in native language ? …… Or is rhyming a unique element of the
english language
Bravo to those who speak multiple languages AND who are able to
write songs in another language other than their native language.
TIA - Schweats

Dear X-Trade, thank you very much!
Dear Schweats, thank you for your kind words. Of course, we also have rhyming in lyrics, poems written in our mother tongue. Here is our first native language song: Ha választhatnál egy percet. (The meaning of the title is: "If you could choose a minute" and the lyrics is about "time".)
The Hungarian mind, the Hungarian way of thinking is colorful, interesting and intelligent. For example this video about Budapest (our capital) contains some world-wide famous Hungarian inventions - that are probably used by most of you every day.
Update: this video is also very nice, this video - although an amateur one - contains even more interesting facts.
Dear all, if you have time, would you be so kind to read some of our lyrics and tell your honest opinion? They are not usual pop songs, they have more sophisticated meaning. We would be glad to have feedback from native speakers, this would help a lot. Is is understandable at all what we sing/write about, what we want to express?
Do it yourself (+MP3)

Thank you and best regards,
