Salam/hello brothersssss

I know someone who has a rubab, i can manage to borrow it from him, or ask him to work together with me.

But, i don't even know the S for Sampling yet.. lol
so if someone could guide me and tell me how to do it, i for sure will put effort to do it. I really love the true sound of Rubab.

thanks bro's

Hi Tamim jan, that will be good.. I hope the person that owns this rubab can also play the rubab.. you just ask him to play a few notes from atleast 3 octaves then record each note seperately. Thats the basic idea behind it... but to give you an idea I will upload some samples of similar string instruments so you just have to play the same notes on rubab and record!

I will upload later today or tommorw! By the way if you are in Sydney Australia I can physically help!

salammm Roadster jan,

please do as you said and let me get the idea of those notes in question.
but how about guidance as for sampling them ???
The person who owns the rubab is a pashtoon, so plays it very well. i havent asked him yet, and i hope he has the time and his rubab is with him.
Unfortunately i am far from you, living in Belgium, europe.

Peace out
Thankss

Rubab Samples

Post by omaidrabani »

Hey brothers,

I am new to korg forums but not new to the arts of Recording, Production, and Performance.

Just yesterday i finished sampling a Afghani Rubab (Medium Size)

Like any profession sample library, i sampled the all notes at 3 different velocities, and a TREMLO for the forth velocity.... (125-127)

Recorded in a X/Y Stereo Mic pattern
using a : (Mic) Neaman TLM 67
Neauman U87

Preamps- Neve Portico 5010 (pre amp & compressor)
Millennia Orgin

Compressors- Empirical Labs Distressor

Anyone that knows their gear knows that this is Class A gear, the best Analog gear for its purpose.

I have not mapped it out on the keyboard YET, however im in the process of mapping it on my FANTOM G6. I also sampled my own HARMONIUM using the same gear, i felt that the Rubab & Harmonium sounds others have made are not up to the standard alot of us expect from professionals in the field.

I am new to korg forums but i can see alot of the afghan brothers who perform and even play for a hobby lack good rhythms & sounds...

Alot of people have used either my beats or sounds or drum kits, its prolly in some of your keyboards right now named (Omaid Logic Kit), Omaid Roots kit ETC)...

If guys are looking to purchase the Rubab & Harmonium Samples/Sounds go head and get in contact with me & ill give you the break down of how much, when, and how we can do it if you can spare the money...

if you put youself in my shoes, youll how much time i spent recording perfect takes, editing and mixing these sounds, not to mention EXPORTING each one lol.....
