M50 Master Volume Low

Post by cooldudelee_james »

Hey guys.
I find that my m50's master volume is very low .
when i'm gigging , i have to keep the master volume fader atleast 2 points below the full volume .
And its still not that loud . The mixer volume for the program is full too .
Is there any way i can increase this in some setting ? Or is it a fault ?
Or is it that all m50's have a low volume output ?
Thanks:)
Leon.

I haven't noticed that the M50 has low output volume. I'm under the impression that the level is about the same as the other equipment I've hooked up to my mixer. In my setup I've programmed all my combis to have about the same volume as the pre programmed patches.

I normally run my M50 at mid volume, then I can go both ways and it's easy to "reset" to normal level.

Do you have any other instruments connected to the mixer ? What are you using for output, powered monitors, powered PA speakers, is the mixer powered and you are using passive PA speakers, monitors, etc. The most info you can provide, the much more help we can give you.

hmmm... Is everything okay with your mixer and other equipment? And can you use a mixer? (not underestimating you, just checking that there isn't something else wrong...)

Moved to another rehersal room last night and got the same phenomena. In previous room there was very simple mixer and M50 sounds even too loud. At new room the mixer is much more modern and...we had to turn all sliders up to get same level as before. So, looks like it depends upon balance in line M50->mixer->amp/cabinet.

what do you mean by " connected it normally . L/Mono and Right ."

i had the same problem before all the sounds had no dynamics.

This is what i did.

i connected the l/mono and rights from the korg to a separate line in for my yamahamixer .

so l/mono to line in1 and right to line in 2. and from this mixer i went to a separate line in (line in1 and 2) to the pa mixer.

have you checked the gain of the channels that you connect your m50?
