Hi Oliver,

Congratulations +1! :D
I love the Hammond. What is your opinion comparing XK-3C to CX-3 EXi in OASYS?

Thank you, best regards,
Akos

Hi Peter,
about your Hammond question it is very easy. The XK-3c and the new B3MKII are very close to the original B3. The feel of the realtime controller and the keyboard assy is incredible. I played it and I bought this virtual tonewheel beast. (Cant sleep after I was playing it, it was the ultimate must have feel :D ) Kurt had the same opinion.

Listen here one of the XK-3c demos:

As you know I am still having my repair service for prof. music equipment. So over a year I repair 5-8 Hammond organs too.
The same happened with a lot of synths from different manufacturer and some of the machines are in warranty, so I am close to the new stuff.
But the reality was like I wrote here, only three things thrilled me.

About your mastering question it is more difficult to explain. I am a hardcore SonicCore and PC user (I remember it was Creamware before) 11 Scope cards, 4 Pulsar 2 cards, UAD1 (2x) UAD2 Quad (1x) So the mastering is a mix of computer stuff and some of my meanwhile modified interfaces. The reason to buy the A-820 was the feel of the analog tape compression. This Studer A-820 is a beast too. (The old good feel from the past.) I think I am a happy guy because I got one, not much used from the radio station near my home.

I never tried the Korg MR-2000S, sorry, but I think everyone has its own way how the mastering process will work.

Viele Grüsse nach AUSTRIA

Hi Dan, what is that "good way" you mentioned to handle the heavy O?

Dear all, do you have experience with this flight case: THON KEYBOARDCASE KORG OASYS 88? (I like it and maybe will exchange with my current RoadReady RRKB88W.)

Thank you in advance,
Akos

I like your demo, especially the part in which the "higher register" is kind of shimmering. Does the Hammond come with a virtual Leslie or do you still prefer the real thing?

Which means you are very knowledgeable technical, but also are very used to the real Hammond sound. OASYS' CX-3 is lacking something but I cannot explain it. The weighted keys are not optimal for Hammond sounds either.

That is for sure . I am going to change my setup. As you know, I like the UAD Plug Ins, but with the change to a Macbook I would have needed to start more or less from scratch. Therefore I decided to move back to hardware and hope that it will arrive soon. Regarding the MR-2000S, I was curious to get some user feedback or at least some impressions from someone who already used/tried it.

It was the XK-3c virtual Leslie, no mods or tricks. The XK-3c model has two different pre-amp tubes included. The way they work can be changed in the setup, the same procedure is still availabe for the distortion. In my opinion it is the first time that Hammond touched the organ horizon with these two new models after a long long yourney. The touch of the drawbars are really like the B3 ones and the keyboard assy has the right feel. :D

I changed my setup last year, it was a lot of work and it is still not ready.
So let me say "good luck" for your new setup too.

Viele Grüsse
Oliver
