KP3 and vocoder control

Post by gmeredith »

Can the KP3 vocoder also take an external synth audio source for control of the vocoder note pitch while using a mic to do the speech control? We want to be able to control the pitch via a sequenced synth so that all we do is play a sequencer and say the words at the appropriate time.

Cheers, Graham

Kaossilator pro cannot take in midi note on messages like "any" synth, instead midi note on/off messages are used to trigger phrase banks.

I am aware of that (same deal with the KP3). In this case I'm not needing the external synth to control the KPro MIDI note, you would run the synth audio out into the KPro unit to modulate the vocals instead of the KPro internal synth. I hoped maybe you could run the vocals mic in one input of the KPro and a synth in the other input, as per normal vocoder units. The manual doesn't mention it but I thought it might still do it.

Double bummer. I really liked the sound of the vocoders in both of them. Thanks for the info everyone, I'll have to rethink this through.
