NanoPad dead pads

Hi,
got the solution (at least for me).
I've tried 3 nanoPad.
The first didn't sound, except for the XY pad.
The second one had some trigger pads that sometimes didn't work.
The third one had the same problem, so I opened it and tighten the screws of the inner unit, which are more relevant than the screws of the external unit to the solution of this issue, since allow the single pads to be as closer as possible to their respective circuits.
Now the nanoPad works, I regret that is not thanks to Korg, which in Italy gives no help about this very common issue.
Be careful when opening the external unit, because screws, which are hidden by the six rubber supports, can easily get consumed.
Good Luck!

Fantastic. (sarcasm)
My gilfriend bought me one of these for xmas and it's bricked. only triggers pad 7.
Called up the supplier and they've sent a replacement, they told me they've had loads of these returned so just to keep my faulty one an try and fix it while I'm waiting on the replacement.
Tried the opening up and taping/ seperating the sensors and to be honest I now have 4 of the pads working if I really really hammer them.
Shame really, the unit has a lot of potential.

Same here...
Girlfriend got me one for christmas and only the xy pad worked. Korg product support told me to return it to the supplier and get another one. Just received that to find a similar problem (although if i really squash them i can get 7-9 to work).
seems like the only thing to do is to just keep on getting replacements until you get a good one. bit of a shame really.

Fixing dead nanoPADS
Hey guys, just found this forum, and have some info you may find useful. I bought a used nanoPAD and all the pads were dead. Did some research, and fixing them is not that difficult. Seems after awhile the weight of the rubber pads makes the contacts sag and stick. Here is a link to my fix over at gearslutz.

Also, here is a link to a fix that may prevent the pads ever dying once you fix it:

My nanoPAD went from totally dead to like new in 30 minutes!

Really easy to do in no more than 5 minutes! Hope many others with the same issue can fix it... disapointed from Korg but now it works as expected!
Again... thanks for the post!

Basically you should open your nanopad and rip the pad rubber (carefully), place it in position again, then assemble the unit again.
I tried once and it works. Sadly the nanopad (at least v1) is a bad product (as all the nano v1) ...now my nanopad is sitting on a drawer doing nothing.
I also have a PadKontrol I got years before getting the nanopad and it still works like a champ. Comparing them the pads on the PadKontrol are MUCH better, the sensitivity on the nanopad pads are real bad.
I got now a nanokontrol v2 and I can say it's much better so probably the other two are better than v1
