True. This is great to get rid of the floppy disks only.There was no difference in speed.
The utility that came with the emulator allows you to have multiple partitions ona single usb device. A 1GB usb stick gave me 100 floppy disk images. 8MB per floppy is reserved for the image. The speed is the same as you all mentioned.
The one thing I was not able accomplish, however, was switch between images. The reason is two models of the drive exit. One with the LCD display and one without.
Of course I didn;t know this when I bought the device. But this is a spare keyboard so I'm not really going to buy the lcd drive.

Another challenge was finding an utility that would format in FAT12. Windows wants to format in FAT16. Trinity uses FAT12, which is the default for floppy disks. So what I had to do was format the usb stick using the Trinity and only then was I able to transfer files between the PC and the usb stick.
