Patience will pay and we'll all find out soon, but the thing I note is that the word 'micro' is not used which is a very, very, very good thing...

So that says to me that it's at least something I might be interested in!

Korg Realtime Open Networked OASYS System?

OASYS actually in the name - very intriguing. Perhaps some sort of alternative to the Roland-hardware+Sonar; using a standalone device that combines OASYS, Electribe and advanced sequencing extended from the M3?

Whatever its going to be.....

I hope it took a lot longer to create than the time is must have Taken to think of the Name....which they've already used in many of their Synths presets banks over the years..

Korg

probably not. The big announcement is that they'll sell out to Clavia.

Realtime

But there will be a 5-minutes-delay version available for free on Korg website.

Open

When it rains, closed thereafter

Networked

This is old, ok. LANs are so "your father's computer", hu?

We had planned including a more modern "cloud" in the name, but KroCos sounded like a chocolate snack

OASYS

of course, or nobody would have a reason to complain

System

Is a BIG word. let's say Thingamaboob, shall we?

well, i do not think Kronos will be the answer to Motif XF, for this they have already M3 and won't make sense a new whole product line just to put more RAM or flash for user's samples and paint it black...

also M3 is not still discontinued, the Xpanded is regularly on korg site, so i do not think to a new workstation neither so some micro- / nano- instrument

i guess Kronos could be:

- new synth (synth! not workstation) completely analog or build over RADIAS/MOSS technology (ok, maybe with more PCM waves) with Karma 3.0 and analog filters from monotron. a kind of V-synth on steroids

or

- a DJ-oriented product for manipulating in real time slices, loops, time and pitch stretching, maybe with (step-)sequencer, real-time IFX, analog filter with ext in etc etc... some like the http://www.elektron.se/products/octatrack

I dont understand why Korg not bring a RADIAS II on the Market, why a new Product?? Look at Access they better develop theyre Products like Virus A, B, C , TI dito Clavia , Nordlead 1, 2, 3 and G2. Radias was and is a good concept of an easy to use Synth with lots of goodies, but some limitations like:

- PWM only for one OSc , so if you want detuned 2 PWM Osc`s you need the second timbre to do that.

-no FilterFM

-the Resolution of the Knobs are not smooth/fine enough , you can here
stair stepping wenn you edit some Parameters.

-the initialphase of the OScillators are on Random, you cannot change it like on the AL-1 , Random Phase is not useful for Basssounds look here at the thread:

http://www.korgforums.com/forum/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=36629

-Radias does not sound so Fat and Punchy like Akai´s Miniak.

IF Korg bring a new Synth it must komplety a new Engine and a DSP with
FloatingPU units and not fixed point Units, because such DSP found in Radias , Microkorg and Co createt an plastic , bandlimited MP3 Sound, we Musicans
need more professionality.

Image

The upcoming Accelerator from Radikal sounds better then Radias and Co. because his Engine runs on a Floating Point DSP:

did the Korg People hear how good the Spectralis 2 sounds??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFLUT-0 ... re=related

The Spectralis has Digital and Analog filters...........

Here is a Soundexample of an softwaresynth from an Hobbyprogrammer, runs on Pc`s:

now, Korg posted a kronos teaser,

rbox posted the "Accelerator" teaser and the spectralis teaser,

what is it gonna happen if I posted this teaser?

I would do it,but I'm afraid somebody whould sue me for burlesquizing a serious technical forum.

So I think I won't post it. Or maybe yes. Wait till the NAMM.

Or maybe I'll post it just now.

here it is:

teaser

And what about this other teaser, by the way?

You dont understand my intention here!

In want to see from Korg or the Other (Yamha, Roland) really groundbreaking technology and a professional Musicinstruments and with really R&D Aspects and not these rehashed, repacked Stuff. I a privat
User i am not working for another Company but i have a good feeling what make a product good or bad.

So if Korg can proof it that the Kronos is really new , all my doubts and critics are obsolete.....

I understand them perfectly, Rbox.

It's just that I am a childish pest.

(who by the way has owned more or less 75% of Korg's catalogue over the past decades. Nice to meet you).

Right.

In the meantime, let's have just a bit of fun about the Nth pompous announcement of a forthcoming "thingamajiig which will blow your mind".

I am still paying instalments for the previous "mind blowing" korg thing...

Still unfinished, but already discarded and obsolete to make way for the new big thing.

Let me at least have fun, will you

in a nutshell: you don't know what it is, right?

You have no idea.

Your posting has no technical content whatsoever.

It's just blabber, right?

So, please, please: post your ideas and hypotheses,

but stop patronizing about other people's jocular tone.

This whole thread has NO meaning. It has no connection to reality. It's about wild guesses and desires which have been discussed 10000 times.

Some people realize it, and just joke about it.

You believe your "what ifs" have some importance. They haven't.

Live and let live, will you?

the day after january 13st, jokes will have less value than serious comments.

Today, they have exactly the same value: zero. Fun for whoever posts them
