It will be a new electribe-type synthesizer with 9 tracks:
1 Drumkit and 8 synthesiser timbres.

Or it will be something completely different, but the 9 made out of many identical spheres and the name kronos make me think it is going to be something time-based, maybe something innovative between a tenorion, a groovebox and a kaoss-pad.

I'm hoping for a knew knobby va-synthesizer with at least one analogue filter for mono-sounds or different digital filters from the legacy-collection, but the teaser doesn't sound like announcing an ordinary synthesizer.

BTW the big number 9 is only on korg.com and not on youtube.

You are missing something.

I don't just "have owned" many (most) Korg instruments.

I own NOW, I recently (1 years and 1/2) bought a full-accessoried M3 88 + radias, I bought third party libraries for it, I created patches for it, I tried to get its many bugs fixed and got nixed,

and I have been evaluating for months buying an Oasys88. I hadn't yet abandoned the idea.

So I was hit by a bullet and I barely dodged another.

I am not pissing on what is new at NAMM. I am pissed at what is NOT at NAMM:

maintenance and continuity of my investment
.

As for the "talk good about it or shut up": I have been in the Army, many years. I know discipline.. If I'm allowed to speak, Sir.

But Korg is my tools supplier, not my Country or my Flag. I'll speak my mind whenever I please.

As for "enthusiasts": it is enthusiasm about... what?

I'll respect opinions after jan 13th.

Until then I am spoofing wild theories and hype, not opinions or facts.

For example:

See whay I mean?

The guy came from the other side of the planet just to get all heated up about...

Why? Do you think they are bad guys? :D

Marketing people are not bad by necessity. Their valuable activity is also needed in the process of making instruments for us, musicians. Especially in hard times like this when everybody is making "instruments". It's not easy to sell real keyboards.
Akos - Marketing people are BAAAAAD!!!!

When in Sun Microsystems, the minute we told the marketing team about a product we were working on, they'd get mad busy designing a marketing campaign without ever once consulting us or without ever reading the spec properly or often even understanding the product. You know the old marketing adage ? - "Lie to the verge of criminality" and boy did Sun marketing live up to that. They'd make up specs, land the development team into deep trouble - and - they are the bloody ones who got all the bonuses. They regard themselves as Gods. They are necessary - but a necessary evil only! There are no good marketing people - believe me!!!

To Martin and Sharp - thanks for the heads up on Ozy's 'Japanese Producer" - I obviously fell for it big time. That said, I find myself almost completely agreeing with Ozy - you’re one smart cookie and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy your posts (and you are clearly very passionate on this subject).

There is a guessing-game contest on right now for the Kronos - the prize is a Korg Monotron:

If you are going to piss on other's excitement before the product has even been released, then you can EXPECT to be called on it from people like me.

I ALSO have the ability to "speak my mind".

So we know that this is going to be something big right? There is no way that Korg would release such a thought provoking video telling us to "prepare to be amazed" if they were just releasing a new metronome?
We also know that Kronos means time (even if the spelling is slightly different)
So my guess is that the new Korg Kronos is going to be a time machine!
Remember in back to the future where the Delorean had to reach 88 miles per hour? Well I'm betting that this new workstation is going to have 88 keys! See the connection?

Like your 88-key thinking Pp - but do we know it's going to be something big? Hmmm. No sure... What we DO know is that Korg wants our attention - and they have; 11 pages of it so far and there's still 9 days to go

Now do they want our attention because it's groundbreaking and/or significant OR do they want us all to see their new mini/micro/nano/ipad gadget?

Time will tell - or is it Kronos will tell?

But in the mean time it's good harmless fun guessing/inventing what Kronos might be

By the way (and off-topic), Pp did you make your purchase (M3 or Pa) or are you holding off?

Nope, can't be a time machine because if it was, a few weeks from now after I bought my one, I'd go back in time to tell myself and I'd post it on the forums.

Then again, according to Jean-Claude Van Damme the “Time Cop” same matter can't occupy the same space.

So maybe it is a time machine and I'm just afraid to come back in time to tell myself.

OFF
First, it's all right, I started nothing, your friend did with his new "humorous teaser" but I won't continue. (Poor him, he's got enough already. He's been piped down and redirected…)
Second, it's not a debate. If the quote of forum rules is not enough will you please have a look at the last sentence in the FAQ. I think Sharp can explain the rest in private.
ON

Post by FGTH »

the whole marketing blurb has been build upon this phrase:

"Prepare to be amazed"

Well...I'm not only amazed, i'm stunned that so many people are speculating about Korg releasing... a product name!!!!!!!!!!!
