SV1 Start-up Problem

Post by gbj47 »

Bought SV1 73 4/2 - gigged w/it 4 or 5 times - brought it home and set it up - turned on power and only the tube fired up - tried to start a number of additional times - took it to authorized Korg shop for repair - repair shop looked at it after I had it there a couple of weeks and it started right up. They couln't identify any problems = I picked it up brought it home and set up and it is working. Has anyone had a similar experience? I am hesitant to use it out if it is not reliable. Any hlp would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Yes, I am having this problem on an intermittent basis. I reinstalled the 1.1 Operating System and had numerous successful "boots". This morning, I turned it on and off several times with no luck.

My SV-1 is plugged into a switchable Furman power supply. I did get it to come on when I flipped the SV-1 switch to "on", and then switched on the Furman power supply.

Please let me know if you have any permanent fix for this problem.

THX!

I had the same exact problem this morning. I got back form a gig last night and fired up my SV-1 this morning to start getting squared away for my next show. . . the tube turned on but nothing else. I've got surge protecters built in to my wall outlets, but hooked up my strip, flipped it on and off a few times like you said, with the korg plugged in and already turned on--and after two or three tries SUCCESS.

I hope I don't run in to this problem at a gig, but this is an *okay* solution right now. Thanks for the post!!!

SV-1 Startup Problem

Post by STinBV »

Thank you for your message. I must confess, I returned the SV-1 with the startup problem and got a new one. Knock on Wood... I haven't had a problem for several months.

Good Luck to Gigging SV-1 Musician!

Just got back from my first rehearsal with my SV-1 and no sound out of the 1/4" outputs. No amount of on/off would bring them back, but the headphones worked... So I patched the headphone out to the pa and got through the night.

Frustrating.
