What the hell is that?

Oh, and I see things which I already don't like at all.
So, Korg still limits the Ram to a ridiculous level if the specs are right. It seems that those sampled stuff from Korg (EX) is loaded into the only available ram and after you load all, there is only about 200 Mb left for own samples, sample libraries. That's silly.
YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU'LL NEED SAMPLE LIBRARIES. YOU'VE NOT EVEN HEARD THE ONBOARD STUFF YET.

MAYBE THEY COMPLETELY ELIMINATED THE NEED FOR SAMPLE LIBRARIES BECAUSE THE ONBOARD SOUNDS ARE TOO AWESOME!!!!

Spec looks like an OASYS design as well - if there is indeed some compatability between the two would be interesting.

:-(
Regarding the Sequencer:
Format:

Korg (KRONOS, OASYS) format, SMF formats 0 and 1.

Hope that OASYS PCG are compatible too

Apex, may I ask you to open a little your mind?
People who play live have their specific needs. One is that they for example need some ethnic sounds which for sure are not part of the ROM (think globally if possible). The other is, that you often trigger some sampled song intros, effects or even whole backing tracks.
I'm not asking for more Ram just to exchange the internal ones with my own but to add stuff which is not covered by the stock library.
High quality akai samples are about 32 Mb. So, just think how many sounds from the akai discs (the Kronos supports Akai format) I can load into the remaining 200 Mb. That's just one example.

Would something like this work:
How about recording your samples, intros, and such onto an audio track thereby freeing up RAM to load more samples?
Openlabs Neko LX5, Reaper 4 alpha, Presonus Studio One Pro, Ableton Live

Yes that would work of course (for sampled song intros and stuff like that). And most of us would probably not need al the EX packs. But, still, somehow the Ram size is IMHO a little underpowered compared to all the other features.
