Wouldn't this be kind of redundant with the Radias step sequencers?

Anyway, there are plenty of options out there. Most of them are also romplers:

- Yamaha QY series (small, very portable)
- Yamaha RM1x (this one is really good)
- Roland MC303/505/808, etc.
- Emu XL7, MP7, PX7 (also very good - I have an MP7 myself)
- Akai MPC series
- An old laptop with Cakewalk Express or similar and an USB MIDI interface (you can easily find a suitable laptop for $200-$300)

I'm not sure if the Electribes are a good solution - can they transmit in various MIDI channels simultaneously?
the problem with the radias sequencer is that you cannot easily change the pitch of external synths while the sequencer is running. You can do that with analog sequencers like the doepfer shown above.

sequancing

iv used a yamaha rm1x for midi for about 4 years have gigged it and can say it is a power house. the clock is strong anuff not to go out of sync. its fully loaded with cool stuff. to play around with and real time midi controls. iv used other seq like the mmt-8 and the qy range. plus cubase logic and fruity loops. but the rm1-x has had me rocking for ages. shamefuly it has seen better dayz and im looking for another one. but a laptop with a good midi box and logic 5 would just as well
