detachable speaker query
i love the new design of having a detatchable speaker to the PA3X. Can someone confirm whether the detachable speaker applies to the 76 Keyversion of the instyrument or just the 61 key ?
Also i am concerned about the potential for "buzz" if the speaker is not actially builtin to the keyboard. I cant tell how the speaker gets attached to the instrument but i cam concerned that at loud volume in the bass notes potentially the speaker attachedment might vibrate and cuase buzzing.
Sharp did you get a chance to observe this or was the hall too noisy to tell ?

if its anywhere near as good as the PA1X speakers then it could bachus . Obviously not for a performance in a football stadiou but i use it in my church every week with no additional amp in front of 500 people and it works brilliantly every time . I have been pushing the sound out at max for the last 6 years and i have had no problems with the inbuilt speakers. I cant speak for the PA sound system but knowing what Korg did with the 1 X i would be very surprised if it wasnt even better .
I did indeed... well to a point anyway as it was noisy there.Sharp did you get a chance to observe this or was the hall too noisy to tell ?
Malcolm from KORG USA walked me through the Pa3X and the Speaker. He removed the speaker to show me how quick it was to remove and reconnect. He also explained how it interfaced with the keyboard.
There are no wires, plugs or sockets of sorts. You simply attach the speaker to the actual body of the keyboard and 5 circles make contact with the keyboard and that's your connection for sound. Extremely tidy setup.
I was standing to the left of the keyboard and there was a fair kick of air coming from the speaker vent when he played. It's a damn powerful sound system. Underneath the bar are the bass bins, and in the front are a series of main speakers.
When the speaker is connected and if you want to use a music stand, the actual stand connects to the speaker bar.
Overall, sound wise it sounded mighty powerful and packed quite a punch. Clarity wise and tonal response.... I cannot comment on as it was way too noisy for me to judge with accuracy what I was hearing in that regard.
All in all, I've got a very very good feeling about everything I saw. It's a clever approach and from what I could hear, it sounded fantastic.
Regards
Sharp.

One god thing..if you play with your back to them....they can not see you drink the booze! Not that I ever drink any adult beverages.
AND they do see that you are actually playing live not just DJ stuff.
So many think it is just DJ, or MIDI files...not a real musician.
Still, If I was on the engineering team I would have made it so you could turn the amp/speaker box around to the audience!
