Authorizer just produces a totally white blank screen

Post by XyZed »

I cannot enter my codes because when I run any of the legacy programmes the authorizer opens up but it's just a blank window with nothing in it.

I managed to somehow get my authorisation codes by just clicking everywhere at random and eventually my browser window opened and a small code was generated which I used to get my long codes.
But I still cannot enter them as the authorizer just doesn't work.

I would suggest contacting Korg UK Tech Support.

I've exchanged several emails with tech support who say they've never come across such a problem and seem a bit baffled so far.

Hi

This is possibly to do with the version of the installer you are using.

Make sure you are on the latest version from korguser.net

Hello Mike,

I'm only using the ones from the Korg site. Each synth has it's own authoriser programme in the package. I'm struggling to imagine how even an older version could just produce a blank window with no text and no method of entering the codes though.

A wild stab in the dark. Very dark actually, but;

are you on a PC? and if so, which version of Internet Explorer do you have installed?

Its just that I've seen this with some programs (notably the AVG 9 installer) where they appeared to rely on having at least IE 7 or 8 installed otherwise the application just presented a blank screen. It seems the program used parts of the IE browser libraries to display its content.

I don't know how the Korg authoriser is made so I can only guess whether that may be the case.

Fixed

After many email exchanges with support they finally suggested something that worked. I rebuilt the imac's colour profile in settings and the window then displayed all its contents.

This is a very bizarre fault because none of the other programmes I used had a problem (although I only use a few on this computer).

Hi. Can you elaborate on how this is done on the mac? I have several Korg programs/editors, and both the MicroSAMPLER and NanoKONTROL editors are both suddenly only displaying empty white boxes where before they worked fine. All the other Korg programs are working as normal, I have tried deleting and reinstalling both the applications and the Korg MIDI driver so you sound like the first person that has the same problem. Thanks :)

Hello slug: Click apple logo top left of screen, select preferences. Under hardware section select displays icon.

Then click the color tab and try to create a new color profile.

The clue was in your System Profile information. If you look, there were various graphic errors listed when launching the plugins, possibly pointing towards an issue with the colour/graphics profile.

Glad it is all sorted now.

Thanks Korgtech. The strange thing is that none of my other programmes were affected. Quite bizarre.
