Smooth Sound Transition: this often-requested feature allows held or sustained notes to keep sounding when changing sounds or modes.
This is such an effing deal breaker on the M50. My 20+ year old Ensoniq does that for crying out loud. There's no reason they couldn't fix that with a software update but yeah, not gonna happen. They're much more interested in selling their shiny new toy than supporting their filthy old crap.

Do I sound bitter? Because I am!
The M50 does smooth sound transitions in Program Mode. If you absolutely need smooth sound transitions, use program mode.

-Kim.
No it does not. It'll hold the notes but it continues playing them with the program you switched to, and there's a very audible "click" in the process.

And even if it did work properly in program mode it wouldn't cut it for me. I really need the combi mode for the stuff we play.

I´ve checked it out in program mode. Sometimes I notice a strange sound, like a mixture of the two programs you´re changing, or sometimes it does quite well, but there is a very slightly mute in the first program, so changing patches is no 100% perfect.
100% hardware made. All is done in a Korg M50 internal sequencer. Now updated (7/09/12) at http://www.hispasonic.com/akmon

I agree with you totally, Mr.Green. I find it difficult to play live with just the M50 because of this limitation. My 10 year old Yamaha PSR 1000 does it reasonably well. Having smooth transition in program mode isn't much use. It takes a bit too much time to switch during a song. Oh why didn't Korg have this feature available in the M50?

....but I do like my M50. That's the love-hate relationship I have with it.

I'm mad as hell with Korg. Forget about the crappy organs. If you see my sig, I had 3 Ensoniqs in the past with this feature incorporated.

We can't be OBLIGED by faulty design to play in Program Mode when in LIVE situations, Combis are far more flexible to switch patches within a song.

Kronos was the reason why Korg was silent regarding the M50 updates: I - personally- will never buy a Korg product again, ever. They abandoned ship with the M50. Bye Korg.

I really understand your feelings...I can't understand also what they did here in Argentina, with the price of M3, cost 3000 dollars, then 2500, theb 2300, and for some days they sell it at 2000 dollars, in order to empty the stock of M3, preparing the market for the kronos...
So, all the people with the M3, after 2 months, have a workstation that cost pretty much than the M50...

Shame on u Korg, y que import music se vaya bien a la re mierda.....

Me paso a kurzweil por mi...
