Interest for OASYS sounds from songs from the 80s and 90s?

Post by vEddY »

I've also been thinking about releasing a commercial library of COMBI sounds that contains a lot of sounds from megapopular 80s/90s song like... Simple minds (Alive and kicking, Don't you forget about me, She's a River), Genesis (Jesus he knows me, I can't dance), Billy Idol (Cradle of love and stuff like that), Eurythmics (Sisters are doing it for themselves, Missionary man) and stuff like that. Of course, not limited only to those. Ready to play, with sounds switching through KARMA so - no cutoffs, and with PDF instructions what's where. So far I have close to 50 songs programmed. Are there any O owners that would have interest in something like that?

This would be compatible with KRONOS later on.

Hey, that would be great! :D Do you also plan to do more 'rock' stuff (Van Halen, Ozzy, Europe, etc.) - these would be my favourites 8)

I would actually be more inclined to do it in a somewhat strange way. I'd like to see users propose a list of 128 sounds that they'd like to have - with my input, of course - make that library and then make it available for some reasonable amount of money. It would take some time to develop all of these sounds, of course, but I'd like to do that.

To give a direct answer to your quesiton - absolutely, from Jump to Final countdown, those would absolutely be on the list. Even if it was only mine :)

Whaddaya say? Would this work for you, fellow OASYS-ans? :-)

Also I did purchase a set for my Motif XS8 that is very good.
It is called "80's Pop Rock Sound Set" Volume 1 and Volume 2.
Check out their song list. (Its only 80's....)

I would love the Vox Human preset from the polymoog keyboard used by Gary Numan on "Cars" In fact all of the synth sounds off Replicas and the Pleasure principle!
