convert Japan 100V to 220V without transformer.

hi there i am stuck with using a step up transformer to use a 110V trinity in a 220 V country....

i heard that there is a way to purchase the "220 voltage board" in the trinity so as to avoid using the transformer attached to the power cable....

what exactly do we call this "board"...has any one bought it before....

Download the service manual and confirm this for yourself by looking at pages 25 for the power supply unit, 69 for the different fuse options, and page 70 for the different AC line cord option. It looks to me like the Trinity uses the same PS unit for all regions. It's a switching power supply with a wide AC voltage input range. What is different is the AC line fuse and the AC line cord used in the different regions.

Exactly as 3 fingers said. Go ahead, purchase a proper cable for the country you're in and you're all set. Trinity's power supply is a universal switching power supply deigned to work with any voltage between 110 and 230 (and possibly 90 and 240). Changing the fuse is a wise thing to do but for a one-off you should be able to do without, as well.
