There are lots of patches inside your R3 that are just waiting to be released...by you....with programming. A synth isn't just a patch player, it's a patch creator.

then get good.

I came to the forum seeking patches for Owl City's music, they forced me to learn how to use my R3, and now I can listen to a song and recreate it's sound on my own.

Yeah, it's virtually impossible to find something decent for Radias or R3. I don't know why. In internet there is thousands patches for Virus, and almost nothing for Korg. :(

The most easy thing to start with is to take a patch for some synthesizer, open it in appropriate editor (any synth nowadays have some kind of software to edit patches), look at parameters and dial same parameters on your Korg. This will give you something pretty close to original patch, and you can tweak it further, play with some parameters...

Also you can try my own R3 patches (look at this forum), there is some trance-oriented things.

Ha,

I think we should collect the best answers we have made to this always returning kind of questions, make it sticky and put it under a title such as: "The inagotable source of patches you are looking for, here!"

ANY patch can be used. I make everything and have used hardstyle screams in progressive house tracks. All it takes is imagination and creativity. And if you want to sound like every other producer out there than just be a dj.
Korg R3, Roland SH-201, Roland MC-909, Novation Mininova, Novation Impulse 49, Korg EMX, and a bunch of VSTi's
