Hi,
gosh, you guys are far more forgiving than I would be with this LED problem.
I've owned well over 50 keyboards , synths, samplers etc during the last 25 years, some for only a matter of months , others for a number of years.
In all that time I've only had 2 problems.
First up my 3 to 4 year old ketron sd2 sound module died during it's 3rd o/s upgrade. Since been told the board is actually coroded.
Doubt I'll get it replaced.
More recently the touch screen on my 30 month old PA800 went dark. Touch functions still work, just can't see what I'm pressing. Whole thing has to be replaced at a cost of round $700. Not impressive.
If I was a gigging musician, I could understand the wear & tear of packing it up & moving it etc.
This board does nothing but sit at home. The problem occurred during a period of 4 weeks when it wasn't even being used.
Anyway it's being repaired, I'll probably still keep it, but it sure has taken the gloss off things.
It gave me the opportunity of spending some time on my 5 year old psr.
I think I may well switch back to Yammie, or go back to my old software/softsynth arranger setup that uses the yamaha styles.

Hi yashir - not sure who you are referring to here - who is "they"?yashir wrote:This morning I was going to ask a question about "how to combine sets". After a quick search, I was amazed how many times this had been already asked, and not even once they had responded to this major request
If you have questions about combining sets, please ask and I am sure you will get some assistance from those who have done it.
Cheers
Pete

Rikki, i'm sorry to hear about that. Yes, it is very disturbing. My cousin had to sell his favorite effect modules to pay for the shipping. His $3400 PAx2pro just turned into a $4100 investment with a very shaky future.rikkisbears wrote:Hi,

Pete come on! You know what i'm talking about. Take a wild guess. Who could be "They"? In only few minutes , i figured out how hot the topic of combining sets for these machines has been? You've never heard people complaining about this 100,000 times?karmathanever wrote:Hi yashir - not sure who you are referring to here - who is "they"?yashir wrote:This morning I was going to ask a question about "how to combine sets". Hi Yashir
Well I could guess that you are referring to Korg, but that wouldn't make sense as Korg are not part of this forum. Usually such questions are responded to by forum members.
Just thought you may have had a question that we could help with - that's all.
There are many scenarios and solutions relating to "combining sets" - agreed that there are no specific tools to do this but it can be done - what is your requirement?

Asking that question presumes there is an answer. But there is no answer, because it's part of the Pa keyboard functionality that is incomplete. Instead of providing this badly needed and omitted functionality, Korg repeatedly ignored us (over a period of 3 years) and even obfuscated the efforts of third party developers who tried to solve the problem. Despite repeated requests from myself and other 3rd party developers to Korg for a specification for the SET file formats that would allow 3rd party developers to proceed with developing a MERGE utility program, Korg did not provide even that little bit of help.yashir wrote:This morning I was going to ask a question about "how to combine sets". This is definitely beyond a few broken LED.
Worse than that, many 3rd party SET files will cause a Pa2x or Pa800 to crash and then the keyboard refuses to boot up afterwards. Hence users frequently have to reformat their products and reload the operating system from scratch. I sent Korg Labs one of those SET files that crashed a Pa2x but did not crash a Pa800. They acknowledged the problem and then ignored it and all subsequent communication from me. If anyone wants copies of SET files that will crash your PA2x then I have over 20 that I can send you!

LIFT Mechanism failing
Hello, I bought my KORG PA2X used on ebay about a year ago, and everything was working perfectly, but recently the LIFT mechanism started failing; the lift button brings the screen down, but it is not working to bring it back up, so I have to use the UNLOCK button and do it manually.
I am not sure if maybe I pushed a button to disable the lift up function so that only lift down works, or maybe it is a known mechanical problem, but would appreciate some guidance if anyone knows what I could do about this issue?
Thank you,
Michael Slaker

Re: leds going down fast - UPDATE!! & RESULT!!
Helloooo everybody and nobody!
I am reading these jokes every day.
On my Korg Pa2x pro the leds were the biggest problem. But thanx GOD tht in my country there are very good services.
This means for all of you:
If you do not want this to happen again change all leds in Pa2,not replace with same, buy another led manufacturer,i`ve already done this ,and this problem never happened to me again, and also the blue light has more strenght and contrast than originals.Don`t waste your money on boards and other hardware components.
Greeting from Holly Balkan!

Anyone with LED problems on PA2Xpro please disregard advice from ivo_dalton.ivo_dalton wrote:If you do not want this to happen again change all leds in Pa2,not replace with same, buy another led manufacturer,i`ve already done this ,and this problem never happened to me again, and also the blue light has more strenght and contrast than originals.Don`t waste your money on boards and other hardware components.
Korg have already acknowledged the problem and have supported the repairs (even out of warranty), so don't buy anything.
The problem is related to the boards, NOT the LEDs so don't waste your time or money on LEDs.
There are stickies about this problem and I believe that there were only a few actual failures (mine included) most (if not all) of which have been fixed.
If you are new to this problem, please read posts from Sharp, myself and Korg and then contact your retailer/service centre or distributor (or as appropriate for your country) to organise repair.
