Hello to all,
I am curious about how I would go about recording this certain setup in my m50 sequencer:
Let's say i want to record 3 internal sounds from my m50 and also 3 external sounds from another keyboard. Can this be done?
For example... I am curious about the Roland SH-201( i do not own one)
I would want to do something similar to this...record on :
Track 1 - M50 drums
Track 2 - Roland Bass
Track 3 - M50 Lead
Track 4 - Roland Strings
Track 5 - Roland pad
Track 6 - M50 guitar
I know how to record on the M50 sequencer, so basically i would like to know in more detail how to record the Roland sounds. Is the M50 capable of triggering those 3 sounds at the same time once the sequencer starts?
I don't know to much about midi. I know i have to conect M50 out to Roland In in the midi ports. I have an idea that in the sequencer mode, in midi parameters, you have to set External to the same channels on the other keyboard. But since I don't have the other keyboard, i have no idea in knowing if it will work.
I saw a used Roland sh-201 and am interested in probably buying it, but i do not want to buy it if i am not able to record it's sounds on the M50.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....... I live in South America and most of the music salesmen do not know too much about midi.

Gaia is not multitimbral, at least on the synth part, you can play GM patches on diferent midi channels but not synths.korgman2011 wrote:Hello to all,

Aside that, yes you can record in the sequencer of the M50 parts played on other synths just define your midi channel and status on track param.

On a side note, you know you can't record sounds on M50 sequencer do you? just midi.korgman2011 wrote:I saw a used Roland sh-201 and am interested in probably buying it, but i do not want to buy it if i am not able to record it's sounds on the M50.

My bad, your not talking about Gaia, but my guess is the same with SH-201. No multitimbrality (is that even a word?)kandarv wrote:...
