This is great news. A nice thing about the Motif is the number of 3rd party sound designers that produce banks for it - Korg may not have as many 3rd party developers, but they are certainly home to one of the best. I really like what I have heard so far from your Oasys demos. Top notch!
A question about loading a Kronos up w/ your PCG banks... On the Motif I can only over-write certain user sound banks. But from what I understand, Korg is far more flexible... is it true I could overwrite any program with another program? In other words, if I bought a Karo bank, could I simply overwrite a "factory" bank with a Karo bank if I chose? This limitation on the Motif drives me crazy, but it seems as if I won't have to worry about it here.

Many of us have been expecting this, but... AWESOME!
And, darn it... KRONOS is on a far, far horizon. I just bought a Kurzweil to get me going with a new project, but hopefully it won't be too much longer until I can get a "The K" of my very own. And then save even more pennies for ALL of these packages, more or less.
Thank you very much, KARO. I'm looking forward to giving you my money.
Oh, by the way... any word on a user ram upgrade for The K?

Being this isn't you're "Average Job", I wonder if they could get an official endorsement from Korg opening them up to streaming. That would really put it over the top.
But hey, I'm certainly not complaining! Third party sounds before the Synth even hits the market? Pretty Awesome indeed.

probably a dumb question but if I already bought the Oasys version, of say, Dance Composer, would it work with the Kronos or would I have to repurchase it from you guys again?
Awesome news! Really awesome to know you guys will be giving us what Korg might not

Yeah I agree, thats strange.. as they already have sound libraries out and nobody has the keyboard yet? I wonder if the prices are going to be $200-400+ per library as they sell for the Oasys? Any sound set priced over $99 I think is too much.Teh Mick wrote:So that means you got access to a Kronos prototype ?

Here the point I don´t get at all is; being some of these KARO libs 1.5 gig wide, how it will be posible to load them on Kronos when it *only* has, (unloading other intenal libs AFAIK) 1gig free availible for loading samples ?
How it is possible?
I wonder: Are those libraries trimmed in some samples, to be able to fit in the Kronos, being the OASYS versions of the same titles wider and bigger?

If Kronos is 100% compatible with OASYS then it also means I can simply load my KARO OASYS sounds in Kronos, not?
I suspect KARO is another type of money-machine spinning off from the Oasys and now calling it "Kronos sounds".
This is probably their easiest sound set to date, doesn't take very long to convert a few programs/combi's to a "new" instrument that is already 99% Oasys

.....Still waiting for the allusive, missing EXf for Oasys.....

I didn't mean that. I just want to know how they optimized the sounds. There is nothing wrong with that if they simply renamed them - the sounds still have the same good quality.Hedegaard wrote:Good point Akos!Akos Janca wrote:I wonder why optimization was needed at all.
