R3 noob, trying to record voice?

Post by Picklemeister »

I'm trying to somehow record my voice into Sonar Home Studio 7 from the Korg R3.
I've tried searching around but have come to realize that I can't find any topics that really help me on this situation.

I've recently read that I'd need to use a microphone input (located on the back) to record voice at all? (Even then I still have no idea how to)

If I need a different microphone to record my voice, why does it come with a microphone? Surely there must be a way!

I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me on this topic.

You can start by reading the R3 manual, page 79 in particular that discusses AUDIO IN THRU. Use headphones to monitor how it works. Then you need to connect the R3 to the computer so that you can record anything, music or voice. That's a separate subject that you can find discussed elsewhere here by searching.

I can record things through the MIDI side, I just don't get the whole microphone thing. :\

Forgive newbies! They often cannot see the wood for the trees on some web sites, and maybe new to posting on forums!

Korg NanoKeyboard, Korg NanoControl, Korg NanoPad, Korg Monotron, and recently a Korg Monotribe, and now an iPad2
