Clock battery replace. Help!

Post by beersoretus »

Hi, I think I screwed up. My Korg Oasys has been prompting me that my clock battery was low. I couldn't find info on how to change it, kept using it and the keyboard just shut down. Does this mean I've lost all the sequences I put in it? Wow. Bummer. Anyway, if you could, please send me a link to where the clock battery is and how to change it. Also, what replacement battery to use....and I guess, if there are any tricks to saving whatever I might have lost. Thanks much!

See "Calendar battery" on page 1090, and "Installing the calendar battery" on page 1093 of the Parameter Guide. (Latest PDF version, E5).

Sequences and all other data are stored to disk, so they'll be fine. No need to worry. You should be able to continue to use the OASYS, even without the battery; if you save to disk, you should manually set the time and date when you start up (so that disk files will have the right info).

Thanks very much for this information. Super glad to hear I haven't lost anything. I have the parameter guide right here, I'll get the battery and get it in. Really appreciate your help.

Hi,

I just got the same prompt message for the clock battery. Could you please tell me what sort of battery is so saves me time to look around?

Thanks

I found the infornation is in the OASYS Parameter Guide in less than 30 seconds:
When necessary, you can replace the battery yourself. Make sure to purchase a compatible battery:
• CR2032 batteries manufactured by Maxell, Sony ornPanasonic.

Hi,

I changed the clock battery last night but still comes up with the prompt message to replace the battery and set the date and time

Any thoughts?

Hi,

1. Still try to set the clock (I think it's in GLOBAL mode in the Page menu) and see if it's possible. After the message shouldn't reappear.

2. Check if your battery is good. If you can't check then replace the battery (buy it from another source).

3. If the above doesn't help call service.

I set the date and time; but still shows the message. I will try another battery then...

Is it inserted correctly, not the wrong way up? Make sure terminals connect to the right pole.

It is ok now! After the second restart was all sorted when I set the date/time for second time.

All good now :)
