updates coming?

Post by mackbaz »

I know its been quite some time since the last update. Does anyone know if there is anything planned for the future? I don't necesarily mean a soundpack( though that would be nice). I'm talking about something that addresses the drive knob setting and maybe adds some added functionality to the editor (setting custom splits and layers).

Yes Korg, let us know! It would be really nice, if there was an OS update.. And don't forget to the expressionpedal, only function to the organs.. Thank you!

My wish list is really short:

- Better Drive control
- Resonance/amount control for Auto Wah

Thanx in advance!

It is almost a month ago when Mackbaz started this topic. Can we get a reaction from Korg please?

Thank you!

"Can we get a reaction from Korg please?" I second that.

They don't have to reveal any secrets just a yes or no.

Agreed. I know you guys have the Kronos launch coming up, but I would certainly hope you still have some people working on the SV-1. Remember good business is about repeat business and customer service.

KORG never announce anything until it is released or at least definitely about to be released soon.

It would be a mistake for example to say that they were working on an update for the SV-1, but then afterwards found that they had to divert resources to something else and the update never got released. That kind of stuff does happen and the result is called 'vapourware'.

Anyway, my advice is always to buy something based on what it can do when you buy it, not based upon what they might add down the line, unless it is specifically sold as such (like the OASYS, or a PC). An upgrade is a really nice bonus but it is exactly that: a treat.

@Xtrade, I do not completly agree with you. I am very statisfied with the SV1. It's a very well build instrument. And, I bought it especially for the Vintage piano's and acoustic piano's. So, no complaints about that.

But, when I look at a company like Clavia, they do release on a regular bases new or improved sounds. Or, they release new software for the Nord, if necesary.

So, I would say, if they wan't to compete with them, they should do more in releasing updates.

And it's not only a bonus to me, it would be a great service of Korg as well.. What about that, ey?

I agree with all posts here. Are we certain Korg even reads this forum? Do they actively respond to it?

I agree! I was just looking at the SP2 Favorites that have the splits wishing I could make my own!
