Hi Everyone
I need to know if there is a way to rescue the entire contents of an ipod touch 4th gen. (all songs whether purchased or not, games, apps, photos, videos, etc).
It's the old story - computer hard drive crashed, the itunes folder was lost, and now my daughter can't sync her ipod without losing everything she has on it already.
Is it possible to transfer all content on the ipod to the computer? I know there are some programs out there that one can buy, but don't know which one to trust.
Can anybody help?
Thanks!
Dee

I still don't understand the whole sync thing so my wife uses her PC for her ipod and I use mine....I have clicked on a thing that said transfer purchases from Ipod to your PC but you must have your PC registered to itunes first to do that....Your allowed up to 5 registered PCs at one time....I was able to back up the apps but I still haven't figured out how to back up purchased songs or photos....They need to make it easier to understand for sure!.....moon
Thanks for the reply Moon!
I found this article and it looks like a good explanation of the whole issue:
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articl ... -computer/
But it looks like there isn't one application - not even a 3rd party one - that will do the whole job and get absolutely everything off the ipod (well, not the latest touch 4 model anyway!..)

When you connect it to a PC with iTunes on it, the iTouch will be listed on the left hand side. Right click on this and you should see the option to transfer purchases.

If they were bought then you should not worry about loosing them at all. I lost songs and apps on my iphone that were not synced to my laptop. All you do is find the apps on itunes or the app store on ipod and redownload them. You will not have to pay for them again as your itunes account has them on file that you purchased them before and will just download them.
