"ENTER" button non-responsive...

The "ENTER" button on my TRITON CLASSIC is not responding. The button itself is fine and not damaged, but I've tried using the button (and pushing it down in different areas and angles) but it is still not working! The original owner had problems with the "START" button and had it professionally repaired. The "ENTER" button is in close proximity of the "START" button, so I wonder if the repair may have affected the other button. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, we have seen this here from time to time on the forums. That's the trouble with second hand gear. While the keyboard might look fine, you really don't know how hard of a life it's had.

Anyway.... you will need to get them it replaced. This is a freaking nightmare of a job to do yourself, since you have to take the entire Triton guts out. SO>>> DON'T DO THIS YOURSELF.

Get it professionally done.

Check all the buttons for response. You may as well get any that does not respond to the softest touch replaced when your at it.

but before... just use a compressor (not a software one

) and blow some air in the interstice of the enter key... sometimes I just blow some air on it and it works cos I have the same problem too...

Ive noticed this on a couple of occasions. Dust etc .
I always keep mine covered .
These kind of momentary contact buttons are always going wrong not just on Korg gear either.

Everybody has that problem sooner or later. Preventive maintenance helps: keep it covered. Vacuuming helps I think. You can get one of those little adapters that allow you to use the suck of your big vacuum passing through a very small end. Compressed air is probably good but where does the stuff you're blowing out go? I had a sticky locate button and none of the above worked so I gave it a little shot of contact cleaner. Just a little shot and work the button for a minute or so. It did improve and the keyboard hasn't started to decompose. Yet.

As far as cleaning the surfaces of the TC goes, alcohol - I used rubbing alcohol - works better than vinegar.

I've got a button on my Classic that does not work at all. It's the arrow down key beside the screen. I'm gonna vaccum first, then use comppresed air if the vaccuming doesn't work.

Vacuumed the button and there is definitely more response out of the button.
I will try compressed air tommorow see if it's any better after that.

Well that's good. If the air doesn't work, try the contact cleaner. Spray a little bit and keep on pressing that (down)button.

I'll let you know tomorrow, I just blew the compressed air but haven't tried the button yet as I am out the door to practice with the band.

I have disassembled my triton to reach the keys but I still got the problem...any suggestion on how to operate further? thx

micro switches on triton classic tr le extreme studio..are all the same and they all have the same problem..after a while ..from using they stop working...
1 sollution is to dismantle your triton and take board with broken swithes to any electronic service and change or use ultrasound bath on swithes...after that everything works fine..i play triton since 1999 and i have good expiriance.. dont use any air compresors..switches are closed so air cant come in and clean them...have fun! sry for bad english!!

triton buttons only last 100,000 pushes in the best of all scenerios, in reality its less.

Basically, You need to get to thr button board, and order some buttons and resolder it.. it really isnt hard.
