Kronos Power Supply not auto switching?

I just got my Kronos and it says 120v. Nothing about it being 110-220. Please tell me this is a joke and it auto switches? We are not in 1995 anymore...

It's very likely going to have a Universal PSU installed like every other KORG for the last 10+ years that does not use Wall Warts.

This is correct, the power supply switches internally.

That was my point in the thread over there. Are you going to try and potentially fry your Kronos and invalide the warranty?

IMHO, much better to buy a transformer until someone else makes the leap of faith

The transformer is inside the Kronos already - so that is why you have DC in and not a wall wart. I bet that the people at Sound on Sound will be able to tell you if they had any problems with their preview instrument they had when they reviewed the Kronos a couple of months back.

If it is operating like any laptop I have had for the last 6-7 years the transformer should switch itself - this is what Dan at Korg seems to have said elsewhere (Switchable transformer).

The Trinity, Triton Series, Oasys and M3 all had universal power supplies so I can't see Korg changing the power supply method and Rich Formadoni from Korg USA has already confirmed on another thread.

Go on - plug it in..... then tell us if it blew up (sorry, couldnt resist it - you'll be fine - in fact better than fine you will have the first documented Kronos imported from the good old US of A)!

I think it means the input power shoud be 100 volts ALTERNATING current. DIRECT current is normally shown as --

American devices in Japan normally work ok. Japanese products products rated at 100V "may" be ok in the US. I have used many Japanese products in the US. But some of them generate more heat than others. These items I used a cheap step down transformer.

I am using a transformer right now till Rich or Dan can confirm I am okay. It sounds AMAZING....

And the keys are great. No clacking...
