microKEY Driver will not install xp recognise it as usb2 hub

Post by jayme86 »

I was wondering if anyone could help me on this problem as I have looked through a number of forums and found nothing similar t

I am trying to install the drivers for a Korg microKey controller. I am using XP32bit professional SP3

I have downloaded the apropriate driver from the korg website and installed it

the installation manual(link below) says that windows will install the appropriate driver automatically then install the korg drivers but when xp detects the device and brings up the install driver wizard, it sees the microkey as a "USB2.0 Hub"? and fails to install the driver. This means i cannot get to step 2 where the korg driver setup utilitiy installs the korg driver as xp cannot regonise the controller.

When pluged in, it is listed in the device manager under other devices with USB2.0 Hub as its name, not the name of the controller.

I have tried istalling the driver manually through the device mangager but get the error saying it contains no information about the device.

I have tried running the install korg usb device program but it says that the controller is not connected. I assume because xp cannot idnetify the type of device.

Has anyone else had this problem? Please help

Ps. I have tested the controller on my mac and it works fine.
