patches for R3?
hi everyone
am new here
have been an r3 owner for over a year now
I like the machine
but have always found it quite disappointing that (as far as I could see....or better: google) there seem to be virtually no presets online to download
certainly in this age I'd expected there to be some handy sites for that (hell....I'd expect Korg itself to offer a big library of additional presets to download)
but I haven't been able to find such place(s)
(yes, I see there are some scattered around this forum in various posts in between all the other posts)
can someone help me out? point me in a direction?

have you checked the support page at http://www.korg.com/r3?
there is a bonus pack with ms2000/b/microkorg programs for r3 and a Power Bank!

R3 Power Bank - an exciting new set of programs created by members of Korg USA’s Product Support staff for use in the R3
R3 Bonus Program - MS2000, MS2000B & microKORG synths converted for use in the R3
SONAR X3
There's also a set from Korg Germany:

Bare in mind that virtual analog synths are instruments designed for creating your own sounds. While the ability to download and load in more sounds is a bonus, the machine is only as limited as it's user. Rompler synthesizers and expandable workstations are typically what you should lean toward for presets galore.

I was disappointed by the lack of forum contribution too. Here's some of my patches

Back in my father's day, you didn't buy a synth to use other people's patches. Because you couldn't.

Yeah, but today you can.
Look, there are people who enjoy creating patches. I am one of them.
But there are also those who just like playing an instrument that sounds good, without learning much about synthesis. Maybe you'll argue that those people are not creative or whatnot, but it's just a way of thinking that I try to respect, something like musicians who play classical instruments.
On the other hand, many people would very much like to learn about synthesis, but they need examples of what can be done with a synth, and how it can be done the quickest way possible.
That's why I think we should share out patches around.

If you don't care to learn synthesis, there are plenty of good ROMplers out there.

Good point. Synth sounds on romplers are never as good as on synthesizers though. Saw wave samples on my X50 are pathetic compared to the R3.tpantano wrote:If you don't care to learn synthesis, there are plenty of good ROMplers out there.
