Since my purchase of KDLE and KALE several years ago, I have been using the dongle versions on an XP machine. I will shortly be migrating to a new W7 64x PC, and due to this circumstance, I must also migrate to the KDLE and KALE with the newer copy protection scheme. To this end, I have some questions:
1) The online installation procedure indicates that I must obtain a license code via the internet when I install the software. In my case, this particular PC is not connected to the internet. How can I perform the installation and authorization on a PC that is not connected to the internet? (I will be downloading the latest software using another PC that is connected to the internet.)
2) Is it possible to install these new versions as a fresh install, on a PC on which they have never been installed before? Or, does a previous installation have to exist?
thanks
Keith

1. You must obtain a license code, but that computer does not have to be connected. I can't remember the exact procedure, but basically after you install on your music computer, when you go to authorize there should be an option to "authorize using a second computer".
2. It is actually best to perform a fresh install. Just download the most current version. All of the installers are full installers (i.e. they don't require any earlier versions). Also, the authorization is through the internet. The installer doesn't look to see if you have an earlier version installed.
If you run into any problems, see my signature to contact Korg. Your Korg country distributor supports both Korg hardware and Korg software.
