This is my first post on these forums so I thought I'd use this thread as a sort of introduction as well! I recently bought a Korg R3 synthesizer with absolutely no previous experience in Synths or Keyboards at all. I've always found it an extremely versatile and interesting instrument and truly, how else are you going to learn anything about it without just delving head first into it!
Now, for $1000 dollars it was an extremely affordable and reasonable purchase! But, I still have little knowledge in it! For a few hours I've been reading up on the forums before making my post and have realised who the normal posters are and you all seem extremely friendly! I've also noticed what music you are all into, so hopefully I can find myself some new artists
Now, I'm in a Hardcore band, and I've struggled to provide much at band practise simply because I don't know what is going to sound good! I can understand if you all have a bit of distate for synth players in the genre of music because I can agree that it's all pretty generic and overdone.
So, questions! I've read through the manual a few times and done some internet research but it is still all a bit over my head, the more complex topics. So if there are any really basic, layman termed sources of information or just the most basic synth tutorials, could somebody point me in the direction?
Finally, could someone explain the sounds at 1:55 - 2:10 in this song? I'm pretty sure it's replicable on synth too. I thought it would of been like an arpeggiated note with noise on it but I couldn't figure out how to get it to play in that jagged sounding sort of rhythm.
